A Series of Activities for promoting economic and Trade cooperation between China and Russia during the period of National Years of the two countries
During the meeting of the Heads of State of China and Russia in 2005, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian president Putin decided to hold Russian Year in China and Chinese Year in Russia from 2006 to 2007. Both National Years aimed to promote long term, stable development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
China-Russia National Years lasted for two years. The Year of Russia in China was held in 2006 while the Year of China in Russia was held in 2007, during which with concerted efforts of governmental and local organizations from both sides, more than 500 activities were organized under during these two years, in which 70 events are in trade and economic field, providing valuable opportunity for trade and economic development of both countries.
As a public institution under the Ministry of Commerce, China International Centre for Economic and Technical Exchanges, entrusted by MOFCOM, to organize a number of major events and activities during the National Years of Russia and China.
