For the purpose of learning from the successful experience of neighbouring countries in tourism development, the Tourism sub-programme organized a study tour to Nepal , Thailand and Laos from 3 rd to 15 th March, 2007. The study tour included the directors of Tibet Tourism Bureau (below refer to TTB), Lhasa Tourism Bureau, Linzhi Tourism Bureau, Chigatze Tourism Bureau and Shannan Tourism Bureau. During the study tour, our delegation paid visit to the Nepal Tourism Bureau, Nepal Handicrafts Association, and Thailand Touring Bureau, Chiangmai Handicrafts Association and Laos Tourism Bureau. On the issues of community tourism planning and mangement, handicrafts product development, and local participation, we had deep and comprehensive communication with them, probed into the potential cooperation in the future.
