In order to learn relevant knowledge and theory with priority in a well targeted way, draw on the successful experience of foreign old city protection and better serve the purpose the Old Lhasa city protection and development. To improve the concept of old city protection and development, draw up the successful experience of planning concept, construction modes, development and operation model in old city protection; To strengthen the capability of functional government bodies of urban construction, historical relics and enterprises, from 22nd December, 2007 to 2nd January, 2008, we organized a study tour to the old cities in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces and conducted training there. The study tour contains 11 people from functional departments of Chengguan District. During their stay in Sichuan, they paid visit to old cities of Anren, Pingle, Luodai and Huanglongxi. In Yunnan, they not only paid visit to Shangri-La which also belongs to Tibetan area, but also to Lijiang, which has been very successfully developed. The old cities mentioned above, near in territory and similar in economy and culture, is worth learning from. To promote the understanding of delegates, improve their working skill, we not only invited urban planning experts to give on the spot conmmentaries but also invited famous expert Mr. Chen Keshi to give training on the spot. The training reached expected effect.
