  ◎ Tibet Development and Poverty Alleviation Programme  
 
 
 
For economic development and cultural preservation of Tibet , United Nation Development Programme (below refer to UNDP) and China International Centre for Economic and Technical Exchange (below refer to CICETE), the Tibet Development and Poverty Alleviation Programme was inaugurated on 21 st June, 2006 in Lhasa with the joint efforts of Tibetan Autonomous Region (below refer to TAR). The programme consists of five inter-linked sub-programmes, including, 1.)Tourism Industry Strengthened for Sustainability and Poverty Alleviation (below refer to Tourism sub-programme); 2.)Development of Trade and Investment into TAR (below refer to Trade sub-programme); 3.)Traditional Artisan Industry Development (below refer to Handicraft sub-programme ); 4.)Old Lhasa City Protection and Development (below refer to ……

In 1970s, developing countries desperately need advanced management experience and skills during their economic and social development, while many senior scientists, engineers, doctors and managers in the world were born in developing countries and immigrated to developed countries permanently. In the light of the brain drain in the development world, UNDP initiated TOKTEN program in 1977 to encourage those overseas nationals to provide short-term service to their home countries. The Centrum für Internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM) is the personnel placement agency of German Development Cooperation. It is a partnership and joint enterprise of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH and the German Federal Employment Agency (BA).
