| In August of 2002, UNDP and the Industry and Commerce Council for World Sustainable Development jointly established " The sustainable development strategy project". China International Center for Economic & Technical Exchange (CICETE) is the government executive organization for the project; China Enterprises Federation is the implementing agency of the project; and Tsinghua University is the advisory agency of the project.
The project is aimed to enable the enterprises, especially the middle and small ones, to establish the idea of sustainable development strategy, raise the consciousness of environmental protection, understand the knowledge in environmental aspect and push forward the process of sustainable development for enterprise production. The main contents of the project include: Organize a series of training and publicity drive on environmental protection, develop a training mode, push to initiate the EMBA course in Tsinghua University and extend it to other universities and colleges.
The project is the first one of environmental protection funded by private sector and will set an important example in this aspect. |
